The role:
Design Lead, Environmental Designer (Freelance)

The brief:
Meta celebrates International Women's Day annually at their NYC and London offices, MKG has produced and designed this event for many consecutive years, and for 2024 the brief was to parallel the event in London but still stand out as the NY event had a lower turnout last year.

The Challenge:
To design a space that inspires connection between the most amazing list of women attendees. Using Meta IWD brand guidelines, staying visually parallel to the London event to maintain consistency and creating multiple points of interaction leading up to the speaker series.

The Solution:
Using natural textures like raw wood and linen to tie up the bold vibrant graphic assets with existing materials in the venue. Balancing pops of color with fresh florals and adding clean symmetrical shapes to have visual balance.

The invited list of attendees were checked into the event space at a strategically located welcome desk between elevators, the cafeteria and a kitchenette for ease of access and a soft linear guest flow.
Upon entering the venue they were encouraged to take a portrait on their phones against a floral-scape backdrop ready to freshen up their LinkedIn feeds!
Rayban x Meta had a try-on popup strategically placed next to the cookies, featuring light propping and functional minimal displays that played in the wave patterns as well.
As attendees made their way to the stage area they were guided by digital seating charts to their reserved seats where table hosts led introductions and interesting conversations before the start of the speaker series.
The stage played both the role of a hero and a sidekick with its soft simple clean design while accentuating bold colors, florals, and monochrome furniture. The key to this balance was using natural textures like raw wood, linen and untextured furniture to balance the flower settings and wave brand pattern.
The event aided in spotlighting many inspiring women through interviews, speaker series and panel discussions. #togetherweflourish

Chloe Flowers gave a beautiful end to the event with her grand piano performance which left all the attendees and everyone who worked on the event with a lot of gratitude for everything women bring not just to tech but accross all industries.

The tablescapes were simple and white with pops of color through florals, graphics, and the delicious breakfast options that were served throughout the event.
