AT&T's activation, a 20-foot basketball that hands out prizes like a gumball machine, was installed at The Grove in Los Angeles.
It featured interactive elements to offer customers a “shot” to win an array of prizes – from NBA game tickets to limited edition basketballs and more. This two-day pop-up event toured amid the NBA Playoffs and invited attending AT&T wireless customers to scan a QR code that triggered the machine to shoot out a custom, color-coded basketball. Attendees then turned that ball in for a variety of prizes.
The machine dispensed 1,500+ basketballs and prizes at the Bayside Marketplace in April 2023 and even had actor, producer, and singer Diego Boneta attending to hang out and mingle with AT&T wireless customers.
The user experience was simple.. queue up, sign up, play the gameball machine, based on the ball you get- win exclusive prices!
